Elvis does it again....a Legend that will never die!!!

hello Folks!

It's been a long time since yours truly has written anything on the verifiedbeliever series of entries..and since buying a house and making improvements on it has consumed a lot of my time posting anything on this blog has been a rarity...but today is a good day to relive the joys of music again...and who is the most deserving person to respect and adore if not the one and only Mr. Elvis Presley...a King?...well according to his fans he was but according to him he was just an entertainer...and a very good one at that...He would not want anyone to put him on a kingly pedestal because he himself said that the only entity deserving of that title is Jesus Christ himself...and rightly so..and everyone would verily agree to that...but Elvis who was and is still admired as being  one of the best in the music business.. is certainly a true statement..
Fans have a way of giving nicknames to performers and that's the way it has always been.. ...Bruce Springsteen is called the Boss...Micheal Jackson was the King of Pop...Prince was Prince himself... I think he crowned himself that to possibly attract more fans...and Elvis's loyal fans crowned Elvis King of rock...and fans everywhere tend to over glorify performers as super human and with godly powers....powers
which are vastly over rated in the entertainment business...a classic example of these godly terms of adoration is the expression...Guitar god...such titles were reserved for Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix...etc...but as we all know and understand...the higher we are put up the ladder the harder we fall...Elvis, Micheal Jackson, Jim Hendrix were all super talented singers and musicians but their career was short lived due to drugs...I guess trying to maintain those crowns was difficult and next to impossible but to them drugs was an escape hatch from the personal prison their persona trapped them in..

A lesson to future virtuosoes...and entertainers?....Let's all learn from the short comings of other  people and also appreciate their talents in their respective fields but a person has many sides and to really understand what makes a person, one should realize that one talent cannot make someone higher as a person...Let us all respect talent and show a reserved respect and appreciation....for their particular expertise...but lets concentrate on important matters of life in the pursuit of wisdom and value and let us not get trapped into thinking a lock of hair is a worthy trophy or investment  just because it belonged to a famous musician...it's insanity and this is one of the faults that we as humans are guilty of...searching for value in all the wrong places..

Nevertheless....Let's admire Mr. Elvis Presley and his rendition of Polk Salad Annie...that was a great performance and he actually makes forgetting his lyrics look classy and even entertaining...notice how he reads the little note in the middle of the song for a very long 3.5 seconds then is superbly oblivious to his shortcomings and continues and marches on to more musical hooks of intensity which makes his title King of rock valid....

People were oblivious to this error and still maintained that the performance was superb and people will always remember him as King of rock..but Elvis knew he was human and played on it and laughed at his mistakes and would not care if he missed any lines or cues...We should do the same and take his life as an example of how to live and how not to live.....making a mistake is human and the philosophers quote to err is human is grossly under under rated...

Let's all relax and enjoy our humanity and respect each other's shortcomings with a sense of humor and a grain of salt for that in itself is the essence of greatness...to be modest and humble with our own skills and expertise will make life's journey a pleasant one... stay tuned for the next entry of the verifiedbeliever ...I promise the old buzzard will show up more often!...Ciao love ya!!!!!
