hi there!
The Merry ole jolly season is upon us as I gently recollect the previous year sitting on my sofa..As I sip my ginger tea I painfully look outside.... The second snowfall of the season has come in with a vengence and all the experts are saying that this winter is going to be the most snowy on record... As the tea rushes to my brain I'am mentally alerted to the fact that this snowy covered city of Toronto is well.... not so jolly ...Is it?
My heart is breaking for my brothers and sisters as all of a sudden the beautiful white snow turns red from the blood that's spilling as Toronto braces itself for it's 82nd murder of the year and still counting...Our polite ,friendly, conservative Canadiana type culture is beginning to look like Hell on Earth as people rush to go shopping for their xmas goods unaware of the terrible pain buried in some people ..A quiet young lad starts his mother's car and for no apparent reason is gunned down as his mother runs outside to rescue him...Her cpr efforts are in vain as the young lad is pronounced dead upon arrival ..Another senseless murder..in the big city...and what are we doing to make it safer? Well...we are in utter denial of what is going on around us...we constantly believe in a magical xmas ...a xmas of hope and new beginnings...Well there is a terrible pattern involved here and as the years go by there are more and more senseless murders and all we can do is keep our chin up and look forward to good times as the Jolly St. Nick brainwashes us into thinking that this time of year is fun for all and the hellish acts of violence is society's problem not ours...
To a lot of my readers I could be a negative old turd but I firmly believe our lives on this planet called earth is a testing ground...It could be a boring axiom but it really is true that life is 80 percent how you react to it... The ginger tea acts like a truth serum as I nervously sit on my kitchen table pondering why people are in denial of the truth! That this earth is actually Purgatory! My early recollections of religion as a child was that the devil was a snake and that when we die we either go to heaven hell or Purgatory...Well...I truly think we are here for a reason and to hide behind a cloak of fun and parties is a terrible injustice to our inner spirit...A lot of my present day beliefs are founded from asking questions deep within meditation...Truth can no longer be denied.People are so much in denial that every day is a day of drunken parties, drug overdosing, over consumption in every thing imaginable ,violence on the streets (and how it actually pays big dividends in the tv ratings!!!). No longer is sex a private matter that is best shared in the bedrooms of our nation. Now it is front, left, centre and in your glorious face as we all blushingly tune into our television sets... We have all those producers and programmers trying to tell you it's all art and to be honest the internet itself could actually be a grand farce when it is used to brainwash people into thinking that a home made bomb planted at the royal museum was actually a work of art! As we learned in my previous entries...one set of circumstances triggers other sets...and the home made bomb hoax triggered a cancellation of an aids fund raising benefit scheduled for that very day! Possibly millions of good will money down the drain!...all because an art student's perception on what is art is not shared by the majority of Torontonians! To be a true artist you need to flick the spirit switch of humanity not terrorize it!
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa what can I say? Ce la vie? A boring response to an evil world? Is sitting on our arrogant asses and pretending that there is no poverty, no sexullay transmitted diseases, no rapes, murders, violence, and no cancer...as we hopelessly take just one more drag of that cigarette...filling our lungs with carcogenetic compounds...and thinking ....well....even rationionlizing the reasons not to quit smoking ...Such as: Well... We are going to die anyway!....Have fun while we are here! ...duhhhhhhhhhhhh it feels sooooooooooooooooo good to have that smoke in my lungs so I cannot feel my suffering!....To these people I can only say...The truth is in the pudding if only you can wake up to it like you do with the sun rising in the horizon...yeaaaaaaaaaaa instead of laughing and having a jolly good time my spirit bleeds for the world....but my body tells it to stop that and pretend that the hellish conditions on this earth is not my problem..it's society's problem...Well who the hell is society?...Am I not part of society? Don't I have the right to admonish humanity? Are we not chess pieces for the actual big picture war that is going on today? Such as: The war against poverty as in the have nots against the haves, the war on drugs, the war on biased thinking, the war on obesity, the war of good against evil, etc. These wars indeed are internal wars...with the mind as one big battlefield...so the war in Iraq is the manifestation of many internal wars of a particular society...which comprises the collective consciousness of a particular race...Clumps of evil exist in this universe of ours and we have many people who are attracted to that by way of their nature...Why are people evil? The answer to that question lies in each one's karma balance sheet..One's life seems very long but in a universal time sequence it is actually a minor blip in the big picture...so that if a person's life was mostly evil in nature he will continue that path unless he changes his destination...So after Hitler died...He would have manifested his spirit into other bodies to continue his evil path...Evil ways will exist as long as there is a material world in which to manifest itself in...The good will continue upon this same path even in the next life...So in retrospect...We are all on our own particular destiny or life path and the testing grounds is on this earth...and how we conduct ourselves here will be the way we will conduct ourselves in the future...We always can change our ways...turn ourselves into good people ...and ultimately change our destination by virtue of our own free will...We are the artist , the writer and the captain of our own ship...We can draw , write , or steer our own stories by virtue of this free will....The free will of mankind is a powerful entity in itself if directed or focused as the sun's rays does on a magnifying glass...The light with the proper medium of the glass focuses the natural rays of the sun onto a single point and fire can be produced...Such is the power of nature...We are the magnifying glass and the free will the sun giving power...We can change our ways to actually be the kind of person we want to be....
Sometimes the verifiedbeliever becomes the verifiedrambler...but hopefully my readers , friends , family members will overlook this and look and read between the lines...True inspiration starts within each one of us...and the bigga bigga bossa upadera, will never come on a cloud and say...Quit drinking you are ruining your life and that of your family...but he will give you that subtle, quiet, nudge of inspiration...It's how you react to it that makes or gives you character...the building of a strong spirit comes from heeding the advice of stronger spiritual entitites...The world can be an oasis or a desert for the developing spirit. This reminds me of the illusion present on earth...The illusion of material comfort, riches , or material gain can be a very powerful temptress when other more valuable unseen value is put on the back burner.
Just the other day I read on msn news that if one could be in the space-station viewing the earth as it really is...The brightest area would be Los Vegas Neveda...with all it's bright lights and kaliedescope of brilliant neon..A beautiful sight for an alien race to look at but spiritually it would be the Capitol of purgatory...thats for sure! Or if you want to be more explicit....the capital of Illusion...USA.
There you have it folks! This earth is what you make it...How you react to these testing grounds of purgatory is the heart of spiritual evolution...Reminding me of a TV movie I saw the other day...The title...Manners of dying, is about a young man on death row...and how he reacts to his ultimate death sentence. They keep playing different versions of his sentence. One day he reacts to his fate to lethal injection as a farce. His spirit is totally deliriously happy that his final death is approaching...He laughs uncontrollably as he is fastened to the table...In another instant he wakes up extremely violent and actually tries to resist the prison guards...Reacts violently to his death row wardon as he is strapped to the table...Spits verbal venim to his accusors...After all he knows in his heart of hearts he is an innocent man and that society has done him wrong...Cursing and spitting at everyone as he slowly slips into death ...Then another day he reacts with total peace in his heart...He knows he lived a good life but finally understands that society is not perfect and in his death realizes that everyone will die with him...He finally understands that everyone is part of everyone ...He actually made peace with his creator through intense conversations with the death row priest...and also made peace with his mother by talking in a tape recorder...As he is fastened on the table he prays to himself and gets the strength to pass through the inequities of this world and moves on to something of higher value...He finally realizes the omnipotent power of his spirit and dies peacefully...A powerful story and demonstrates how we can react to life by virtue of a free will...Yes we are all slowly dying and alos slowly being tested...So in actual fact we are in a race against time...Hoping today is not the day of our death sentence...The man on death row had it easy as he deliberated which manner he had to choose...He had a choice in his manner of dying and the different versions were his to make...In the end he finally chose the one which reflected tranquilty... prepared for death and died in peace....We should be so lucky?!
So my dear friends, readers, family....Don't run for the hills when I said that this earth is a purgatory...It's an arena and how we react to our ultimate fate is what consititutes spiritual character...So be it! Take care and be good to yourselves and others! Stay tuned for the next entry of the verifiedbeliever! Love yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
