Hello Folks!
As summer begins in Southern Ontario the stench of a garbage strike has held their citizens hostage to the roar of organized unions..Windsor now is in it's 11th week and there does not seem to be any light in the stalled negotiations so far..Is union busting a logical alternative to a cash strapped city? Will there be more money lost when businesses decide to vacate the city of the Roses? Toronto and Windsor are saving millions daily with every passing strike day..Is survival that important to a city worker who gets paid 25 dollars an hour sweeping city streets while the market value of a janitor is around 11 dollars an hour? Do the public realize that a Toronto city kitchen worker gets paid 24 dollars an hour while the average market value of a Toronto kitchen worker is only 11 or 12 dollars an hour? Do they realize this or do they really care about serving their city and their fellow citizens?...After all a city employee is a public servant and gets paid very well to serve the public if and when he decides to serve..Let's face it no mountains are climbed when survival is the name of the game! If we observe birds we would realize that survival comes naturally easy for them..Somehow every creature will survive eventually without any major problems or hindrance..Survival is mostly put on automatic among most creatures..Humans? Well that's another story! What humans do best is to survive..but surviving is often done too well...Wanting more then just to eat and reproduce they over glorify themselves to the point of personal Lear jets, one million dollar CEO bonuses and expense accounts that will make your hair cringe..Would that be their mountain or magnificent obsession? Well if you call The thrill of a Chase a mountain then maybe your sights are not set high enough!
Surviving in a war torn poverty stricken country can also be a mountain because of the intense poverty involved..So in reality everything is relative and everyone's circumstances are different from anyone else' s..So we can envision that one's personal mountain is as unique as the individual himself..The more I contemplate about life the more I see the urgency to do my part....It is the right time for action and to realize this is to realize that life will wait for no one..Climbing a mountain is what makes life worth living..Being robotic about life is not a challenge is it? To survive as a human being in this part of the hemisphere is really not that hard compared to third world countries on the other side of the world..As we hoard our cash, food and power we feel cozy and belligerent to the plight of real poverty in places like Africa..
One's personal mountain can also be someone Else's waste of time..To the many adventurers who scaled Mount Everest one can come to the conclusion that what is rarely done can be someone else's dream..To put your name on a list of rarely accomplished feats is to achieve immortality when factoring in books such as the Guinness book of Records..Is this a frivolous pursuit and does it have merit? Well considering that one's soul is immortal anyway I find that pursuits involving rare competitive physical feats a total waste of time!...One needs a more valuable and spiritually motivated mountain which can reflect the true will of the spirit.. There are many mountains and there are even hills which are just as important according to the temperament and inclination of the individual... Loosing weight to a person who weighs 1000 lbs can be a mountain indeed and if this person finally achieves his normal weight level then his particular journey is just as important to him as Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon! Well climbing mountains should be on everyone's mind...After all we are not here to only reproduce, eat, sleep and to buy all that fancy electronic equipment!...Major corporations such as Apple, Microsoft , IBM, Dell, all have one thing in mind...Their mountain or mantra is to sell you millions of electronic gadgets so that they can survive...and stay on top of that corporate mountain!.. The bottom line is actually the bottom line and that's all there is to it! Yea the need and will to survive is a major mountain indeed and most people , corporations , small businesses and even all of the animal kingdom have no need to be spiritually correct and benevolent toward mankind...All they want is to live in their own comfort zone...Yea, the current global mountain today should be a major attitude shift..toward global and mutual cooperation! This may sound better in wording then in actual reality...Human nature and global greed has prevented significant progress from happening...
There are also mountains which seem impossible to mankind considering that everyone has a different perception of what is right and what is wrong...Remember one of my previous entries when I mentioned that people are comfortable doing and saying the wrong things?...Well to the smoker, alcoholic and drug addict...your journey to a pure mind and body seems to be a constant struggle doesn't it? Take the crack cocaine addict...He needs to take more and more of that evil substance just to get the same high..The first initial experience of a crack cocaine user is that of pure bliss..The rush of Adrenalin makes one addicted very quickly..and the cycle of despair is amplified with every use of the substance...Any addiction is an illusion of false security...and the expression..."All men need their little cave to go to once in a while"...Literally means that every Friday night one gets drunk and the sober rational person of yesterday is temporarily non-existent! To escape this vicious cycle of addiction means that the next morning one has to start climbing a mountain toward total sobriety! Before they can actually climb that mountain they have to start getting themselves out of that bottomless pit they have entered! To go from a bottomless pit to a mountain is quite a chore indeed! So the act of being sober and rational can be a mountain to many people..if they are subjected to mental illness, addictions, or major illness..Let us all pray that we have the fortitude and strength to climb our particular mountain and hopefully it will not damage our frail minds and bodies!..The thought leads me to Nietzsche's quote "If it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger"! This quote alone can be the foundation which can lead one to their own particular mountain..It need not be grueling tedious or impossible...The feat of the first man on the moon in 1969 was not the result of a single man with an idea...but the result of many hundreds of people who had the vision to climb that lunar mountain!..Precise mathematical calculations were necessary to send the Apollo mission into lunar orbit...The co-operation of many technicians, scientists, astronauts, electronic engineers, and the NASA ground crew made the big picture puzzle of the Moon's landing a reality! An awesome mountain is possible when desire and the collective will of the spirit join forces! The lunar landing of 1969 was indeed a global accomplishment and the spark of intense desire was set by John F Kennedy when he challenged all Americans to accomplish the dream by the end of the decade! Any mountain can be climbed if the desire and determination to climb it is present...
There are presently humongous global mountains which are constantly on people's minds..What we classify as global mountains are actually major hurdles or problems which the world currently faces..Severe problems should have a collective global solution...The United Nations should expand their membership to include all nations so that all nations can contribute to the solutions of today's problems..Does it make sense to call the United Nations that name when only a small percentage of the world are members? The world's population has doubled since 1960 and that terrifying statistic is the reason why there is major hunger in the world..One billion people are starving in third world countries and there is no end in sight!..We need to put a global cap on human reproduction and a world agency should be created to light the spark of change..Mountains need to be climbed on earth rather than spending billions of dollars to send a man to Mars...One must realize that life is abundant on earth and one must be ready to improve the conditions on this planet first rather than go to Mars or the Moon again to establish a foothold..The quest for knowledge is never satisfied so we might as well be true humanitarians!...Major world economies should enter in partnership with struggling third world countries so that life can be improved for all mankind...Giving millions to a selfish dictator is not helping the people of that country...Democratic countries do not understand that dictatorial heads of government have the power to intercept monies coming in their country! One can go on and on about the world's problems and how they are mountains to a lot of people..One thing is certain...people need to cooperate with each other!...People need to change their attitudes and realize that that they actually have the power to help the most vulnerable...The right to be human means that all people have the right to food, water and general health...Change starts with each one of us and if the right attitude is present then the spark of change can motivate each one us to climb our own mountain! By doing our individual part we can contribute to a global perspective which aids mankind in solving the world's problems..Global priorities need to be properly assessed so that global problems and their solutions can be set in motion...Let us not actually look at the top of the mountain for now ..Let us look at the momentum for change that a shift in attitude can bring! Even though Micheal Jackson was not perfect he did teach us about "the man in the mirror"...and that change is the only real thing!
Stay calm and light a spark for change! Stay tuned for my next entry of the verifiedbeliever! Ciao Love yaaaaaaaaaaaa!
