A touch of Class...

Greetings good people!

As the final 'dog days of summer' passes we enter the rejuvenating crisp clean days of autumn..There is a sudden energy in the air as the summer's pollution makes a detour..The slight chill is invigorating and really gives the lift we desperately wanted all summer..Maybe the absence of summer's humidity, the pollution and the garbage strike has given one a new lease on life...

We can hope on our lucky stars that the true mayor of Toronto will make his appearance in the next election..What's the problem Mr.Miller? Can't take the heat? Well sir, you better stay out the kitchen as Toronto is bracing for a new and more interesting election....Without Mr. Miller? Well I guess that's true considering that his family now takes top priority and he cleverly uses that strategy to camouflage his inept style of leading..Millions of people can relate to the concept of being with family as a first priority and therefore creating sympathy among Torontonians..Does he have a touch of class? Hardly! Even though the 3.8 percent property tax increase is significantly lower than Brampton and other 905 surrounding communities..What people are furious about is the tax increases that are conveniently masked such as garbage collection fees, users fees, land transfer taxes, pet licensing fees, vehicle tax etc..Some complain this is an overall tax increase of 10 percent! I guess since Mr. Miller and his cronies cannot efficiently manage municipal coffers so their only last resort is to gouge every Torontonian until they bleed!.. Yes I do sympathize with Mr Miller wanting to be with his family...but so do all of the other working mothers and fathers who pay day care charges and have no other option..If Mr Miller wanted to send a very powerful message he could of said that the job of mayor must not have a 24-7 workload but in all fairness should have a reasonable job schedule which takes family into consideration..Then he would incorporate family and work values in proper balance with each other..He would show leadership in this way..Pointing out that it is indeed possible to still do a good job and also spend time with family..If he did declare this then he could not use family as an excuse to quit municipal politics! Could he?...Being a father surely has a touch of class ring to it especially if a typical Toronto father can effectively juggle work with family obligations..Since a multitude of Toronto fathers are presently doing this I cannot see why Mr. Miller can't either..Oh well we will leave Mr. Miller with his very generous severance pay and hopefully we can elect a mayor who has a more vibrant and positive perspective..

Well talking about politics is rather boring and trying to find a touch of class in politics is like trying to find the one in a million rare gem that we all are crying for..Leaders who can lead are the ones who can set a good example..Mr. Obama is a class act through and through..On the verge of major health reforms and getting more respect on the international stage gives him top marks for sincerity and motivation...The only alley at this time is time itself..and as the time space moments of American leadership gradually unfolds one thing is almost certain..The person who shows the desire and determination will create the most momentum for change..Mr. Obama may very well change the political and domestic landscape and his classy nature could very well be the change that America needs...Let's all give him the support that he needs to carry on! The total world synergy can be the powerful spark we need to motivate these leaders to make spiritually correct decisions...

The first lady Michelle Obama is also a class act who also leads by example.. volunteering in homeless shelters and planting vegetables in the south lawn...planting broccoli, lettuce ,herbs and other kitchen vegetables ..The white house "kitchen garden" is a wake up call to many North Americans to actually do the same thing!..Buying local can also mean growing in your own back yard! My my what a class act she is!

Being of Italian origin has it's advantages..Italians with their superb work ethic resulting in the construction of many buildings, houses, highways, highway columns etc...I must say working at an honest job is quite classy when considering how it effects the big picture of progress!..Italians by nature are hospitable and consider it an insult if you don't savor their wine and pasta!..Then there are other so called Italians who may be on the verge of being socially disadvantaged...One classless act is the president of Italy...Mr Berlusconi...His name is being dragged in the international mud lately as his younger girl fetishes led his wife to divorce him...what a splendid example for us Italians! Does this billionaire dine at the most expensive restaurants? That is a probable yes!.. but accumulating over a billion dollars through his television and media empire is no guarantee that he has that touch of class!... Does it? Well.. as we presently discuss this bubbling idiot Mr. and Mrs Obama are not amused!..Calling him that tanned guy from the white house and then having the nerve to say he even saw pictures of him with his also tanned wife holding hands at the beach...makes for interesting gossip on the international stage...but simply makes his office a less credible one..as people wonder who is this man who mixes beauty with politics?..His persona should be focused on the coming Copenhagen summit later this year not on how sexy political leaders wives look or how a political leader looks!...Money sure does a number on someone's mind! I bet he has no clue what a spiritual dollar is! Mr. Berlusconi definitely lacks the touch of class and to take him seriously as a leader means that most Italians think he's amusing and will give him the mandate to do whatever he pleases..It is a blessing that most Italians are good by nature and this bubbling idiot is not a typical representation on how people behave in Italy! Thank God for that!

Well that's two sub entries on politics and who is classy and who is not.. Let's discuss class in other fields or endeavors.. Class by nature is something that others can feel and appreciate..It is that invisible quality that something has by virtue of breading or by someone's beliefs..and how they act on them in that classy distinctive way... A horse is classy if it can win races at higher purses and the lessor horses less classy if they win at smaller purses...The pecking order of horses gives the classy horse the nod while the cheaper less motivated horses let the classy one pass by..The animal kingdom is loaded with class..Another example is the Queen Bee of the insect family..By virtue of it's elongated shape and status in the bee world one can visualize the similarities between humanity and bees..The hive is totally dependent on the queen bee to propagate the colony and on a typical day can lay 2000 eggs..mating with several male drones on a given day make the Queen bee one classy but busy insect indeed! They also secrete a substance which other bees lick off her to prevent them from reaching sexual maturity...thus protecting the royal status of the Queen Bee..Where it becomes similar to humans is when there are other queen bees in the same hive and there are assassination attempts so as to have complete control of the hive..Some queen bees decide to flee thus eventually establishing their own hives therefore reigning with no problems as they seek to remain on their own royal pedestal!

Class will eventually tell who is mediocre or who is truly great..by virtue of how someone performs..Mr.Tom Jones was and still has that touch of class..but his earlier concerts showed audiences around the world that he was probably the world's top singer..One can surely appreciate his singing but his dancing and mannerisms took his singing to another realm altogether...Take a gander at his 1989 song "Nothing but a woman" and you will see the classy singer achieve musical heights never achieved before by any singer..His musical hooks literally leads you along and pleasantly takes you to musical nirvana!...Just click on the following link and be prepared to be amazed as Tom Jones shows everyone (preferably female) what it is to be male! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-kuIfaq7gQ

In conclusion let us all strive to have that magical invisible thing called class...Being rich is not a prerequisite for class..Class means that you should not be arrogant or flaunt your beauty or money as if you are the only person that deserves it.. You can have all the classy furniture in existence but you may lack the class necessary to be a true leader or humanitarian..People who have this touch of class will show it by their love for humanity! The act of giving instead of receiving will always be the ultimate class act!!!
