Seek Value wherever you go ....folks!

Hi there!

My My...the procastination bug has really done a number on me this month ...To write takes a lot of thought, not to mention the inertia it takes to actually move my fat ass toward the computer keyboard.. (hehehe)..But here I'am ...in all my glory...sitting at this keyboard wondering what the hell I'm going to write today...A little bit of inspiration goes a long way toward setting the spark to lead someone's mind toward a harmonious nirvana state..Let's see if the seemingly impossible can transcend reality..lol..

Today's subject matter: "Seek Value wherever you go"...can be a daunting task to figure out..but since I have reached the ripe young age of 55 in July...I think I have enough worldly experiences to fill an enclopedia ten times over...So here it goes folks..Value...that often overlooked word in our english language...is a strange beast to say the least. It's like ...Love....everyone knows about it and everybody is in love with love but do not love and silly me: When I walk down the street I don't see anyone lining up at the corner of Young and Bloor waiting to hug me lovingly.....(hehehe)

Value can be the best thing that can happen to you if you can focus on it's fundamental logic...Value is something within this materialistic or spiritual universe that shows itself as something worthy of acquiring...by virtue of minimal payment or effort or simply when opportunity meets you at the right time..One can say certain parts of the bible can have spiritual value...Such as Come as you are..Simple enough huh? If you can see the logic in this...you will be amazed forever...If it states come as you are...where are we going to? Well...depending on the state of your soul just right after your body dies...you may go to hell..if you were a content serial killer on a sunday afternoon of shooting hundreds ...You will not be rewarded that's for sure...So depending on what you did in life...you will reap the benefits or punishment in the afterlife..So the only value in this would be the wisdom of a simple sentence. This reminds me of a song I wrote called...Take me to the place I would rather be..The meaning of the song is what we plant as seeds will be a direct result in the kind of plant harvested.....Mother Teresa certainly planted loving seeds all over India when she picked up starving children from the gutters and thus her Mission of Charity was born...The Value? Well India and the world was blessed by her caring work of love..and We will probably never see a soul so powerful and determined as her... So Value in a spiritual sense is alive and well. The only thing that eludes us is our looooooooooooooong stupid nose!We love to see what's directly in front of us....Dam the invisable and the complicated...They are not right in front of our noses! (hehehe) We will leave all that to the fortune tellers and the soothsayers of our age.. (We think or say to ourselves)

Part of being old and (maybe wise) is that I have a lot of experiences to share with my readers, friends, relatives, and even the tire kickers who happen to fall into my part of cyberspace ...If you can remember my previous entries on the Third eye of perception one can have different value systems...based on perception...or is it biases and individual quirks of preference? Well ...let's see: I have now been living with a woman who shares my value sytems to the core. There are many people who consider picking garbage below their standards..They equate it with being homeless or very cheap or very poor..To pick garbage in a garbage can that has scraps of food in it...would probably not impress my late father and to be honest it really doesn't impress me either that's for sure.. But...one day after a long and interesting day at work I came home to my sweety hoping to share my interesting day with her..but as I entered my apartment I was shocked to see a somewhat new velvet love seat in the living room. She was talking earlier about getting one in a future garage sale but lo and behold I saw her proudly sitting on it smiling her sweet smile of smugness...Well the first impression I had was...How much did it cost? She replied " it was free"...She dragged it from the parking area up to the 3rd floor of our apartment..I responded...with surprise..."Look what the cat dragged in"! Well as I sit hear contemplating I finally realize I have fallen in love all over again...Here is a woman who mirrors my values..I estimated the love seat to be worth around 400 and change...Quite a nice piece of furniture for a little more then 30 minutes of dragging time....lol
Among other things I have found and delivered are...a solid white brown trimmed storage cabinet, a bamboo rocking chair, another longer type love seat we put on the balcony in the warmer weather..A nice vintage estate lamp with shade, an am- fm alarm clock radio, a blood pressure tester, assorted pots and pans (all working excellently), a CD rack holder which holds around 200 CD's...Get the picture? My friend...whom I call el dipitysticko as a joke says that we are garbage pickers..We say:We are value pickers...When we all pass on we can not take the store bought goods with us can we? So what difference does it make if the items are bought or found ?Many people may think they are superior to others just because they went and spent 500 on a love seat.. They think that new is value just because it's new...well ...value is not measured this way dear folks...if the shoe fits wear it and who bloody cares what the Jones think? The axiom One'man's junk is another man's treasure proves that people are of different persuasions and characters...It also proves that people don't listen to axioms and wisdom...and common sense is not so common anymore... It's been over 10 years now and all of the freebies and bargains we have collected over the years is still standing and in top condition...We believe in taking care of value...whether it's free or from a garage sale..

Stuff from garage sales and other items lying around like stoves, fridges, and everything under the sun is for your taking...All you have to do is do the minimal effort of stripping down that fridge to it's copper value and drive down to the scrap yard and collect...My dipity friend's (soon to be step dad) even bought a box of bottle caps for ten cents and sold it on e-bay for 10 dollars...Just to show you that value is everywhere but we all have to open our eyes and make the effort to cash in...or keep. The only problem with people is their individual biases which tells them that Walmart or the Brick is the way to go and that picking up junk is well junk...because of the status quo of what the jones are telling you.Boy did they ever do a number on our subconscious..We are brainwashed into believing the advertising on TV, the radio, flyers and even the internet....

Value is a precious commodity only to people who can dive deep within their own selves and perceive it as it truly is..Now since I'am Italian born you cannot imagine that I will omit my special precious commodity can you? Ok have a good belly laugh!...It's good for the soul I don't mind.My precious commodity is not gold...it's food! For what good is gold if you can't buy food huh?! (hehehehe)
There were many adventurous trips to my local supermarket and to recount all of them would be asking for many many pages of storytelling and I may as well put out a how to shop guide and go from there...but since this is a human interest entertainment type blog I will only talk about only a few escapades...Ok OK...listen Mr manager I'am not advertising your store just stating where I go shopping...No frills...A catchy name with some very good prices! Just the other day I went comparision shopping and compared the cheddar block cheeses with that of Loblaws ...Loblaws sold thier cheddar block cheese at 4.99 for a small rectangular slab whereas No frills had their's on a regular 1.99 special rate . That's a considerable price difference considering how expensive cheese is. There were many times where I got my food free and I wasn't stealing it ...No frills has a policy if they overcharge an item on your bill you will get it free..It's a good policy if you're savy enough to take advantage of it...No it's not taking advantage of the store.. It's your legal right to take advantage of any loop holes you can find...Hey it's how lawyers make a living...(Heheheh) The item in question was Octoberfest sauages which was at the time listed for 2.99 on the no frills shelf but on the computer scan listing it was listed for 3.47...They forgot to enter the special rate...Anyway , I did mention this to the cashier but only after everything was rung up as a sale...Then I went over to the service desk girl and pointed it out to her...She agreed and gave me the money back an counted it as an error on their part..You think they would go to management and correct the misplaced entry?....Not on your life! I took advantage of this 3 more times and after the third time they deceided to enter it!
Most weeks there are errors but no overcharges but since iam a bit of an eagle-eye I find overpriced items once a month ...So take heed my dear people and check your bill for errors and overcharges and you never know when it will be your lucky day...Buy things in the reduced section too and you will get a fantastic deal....Just the other day I got a whole bunch of tomatoes for 99 cents...Nothing was wrong with them...and even if there was you can cut a blemish and it is perfectly good...you can also freeze them and make sauce out of them...How about perfectly good bread for 36 cents? Well I bought 7 loaves of them and froze 5 for a rainy day...how 's that for a professional shopper? Yesssssssssssss you have to know how to shop and how to wheel and deal at your local supermarket...Try it and send me a comment on how you did....I love hearing about other people's adventures....(hehehehe)

So be it! Value is what we perceive it as. Let's take another example in the music industry from which I can appreciate as being relatively true. Rock bands struggle for at least 5 years before they hit it big. There was an article in the Metro Daily News which states that rock stars have a higher mortality (twice the normal rate) after they hit it big. The reason probably is that they are not used to the humungous amount of power and money they all of a sudden have. You see ..before the I have made it stage they were struggling and their life was extremely hard as most starving artists would attest. To ease the pain they would drink, get stoned and party like crazy. All their money was sadly spent and off to work they go for another round. Now all of a sudden the front man and his band hits the big time and people think they are rolling in clover and enjoying their new found fame and wealth but they are actually doing the same things as before and now it's even more drastic and heavy...why? Well now they have larger amounts of money and can party with style and order ten times the amount of drugs, booze or whatever their heart desires. This catapults them to the danger zone of life...and before you know it people like Curt Cobain, od's on drugs...and now the fans make him a hero and a musical genuis like never before...Power...obviously is not handled very well...Power has tremendous value but little do they know that it takes a Third eye of perception to make good use of it...I feel very sad for rock stars...if only they knew how to handle the Value associated with their newly found fame and power!

So how is everyone doing so far? I truly hope everyone can measure Value according to how the universe would measure it. The big picture of life and the Value of it is usually disguised deep within one's subconscious and to really appreciate the Value of life one has to dive to the deepest part of the cyber-universe....Hey if you actually go there you might see me the Verifiedbeliever!.....(Hehehehhe) Ciao.......... Love yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
