hello Folks,
After that very stressful previous entry let us discuss other things which are more conducive to tippy-toeing through the tulips..after all it's spring time and life doesn't get any better when you are doing something you love. On the other hand there is so much negativity in the world..people ignoring each other and everyone showing how biased they are to anyone who is different, at times makes my hair cringe at right angles..yea the old cold stare especially on the Monday morning subway car makes one want to go back home and read a good adventure novel. The phrase 'Life is short' seems a bit redundant but compared to the complexity of the universe anyone's life is just a blip on a radar screen..too short according to our perception but can make a big difference in the big picture.As they say it's not the length of time you are on this earth that is important it's the quality of time..So even our own little blip of a life has tremendous impact in the grand scheme of things..When one domino falls there could be many that could fall if they were all aligned in the proper way..
Today's entry comes straight from my cleanly filtered mind and is devoid of any falsehoods or discrepancies... Sometimes writing what you have researched and then filtering out the untruths and lies can be very frustrating but nevertheless constructive..We all are all energy beacons that receive and send energy..Some of the energy is good and some of it is bad but in the final analysis any energy beacon still has the job of sorting out what frequency level is comfortable and what energy level is worth receiving and sending..Reminding one self that the true mind should work like a filter can be daunting at times.. sorting out the wheat from the chaff in life can be a headache.. but the phrase..'the mind takes the path of least resistance' is the short cut route to most people..Why do I say that? Well it's easier to feel comfortable then to recognize the power of the truth..I just love those nacho chips and to me they are the mother of all snacks when I get that urge to nibble..The truth is that they are loaded with saturated fats and one serving of only 15 chips can be loaded with almost 300 grams of sodium...but they taste so good don't they? But what if I try an experiment and apply the what if theory and say to myself...'What's the worst that could happen if I abstained from munching on those delicious chips for a week? Well...the result might surprise you! You really won't have a nacho chip attack..if you try this little experiment! Hmmm will try it this week! (he he)
Today's entry Be your own experiment is the result of a nice walk along Bloor St ...As I now walk with pep in my step the days are refreshingly different as my body, mind and soul are more in tune to what's around me..so much so that I really did notice a young man with a T shirt that said: 'Be your own experiment'... Bells and whistles went off in my head as the aha experience suddenly made terrific sense to me!
One must constantly edit one's life as we live it. The expression History repeats itself leads to the new and improved expression History is actually edited! Life cannot progress with the past as an exact copy of the present one must consider the past and edit or improve what mankind has learned in previous times..Being your own experiment means that you won't ever have to be the guinea pig of Big Pharma...You will have the courage to try alternative or natural means to accomplish the same thing...For example..Most people settle on the quick fix when they have sore muscles...That workout at the gym or moving your legs a certain way in your first attempt at yoga...could cause cramps or sore muscles...Muscles you are not use to using suddenly becomes inflamed and your pharmacist advises ibuprofen to cure the aches and pains..Remember our previous Big Pharma statistic that says that 45,000 North Americans die prematurely yearly by using pain killers, aspirin, and Tylenol?..Drugs companies do not care and they use you as their own guinea pigs while they line their corporate pockets with humongous amounts of cash! What can we do? Well...By being your own experiment you can refuse to let any drug corporation manipulate you!
In discussing sore muscles one can use freeze dried ginger...500 mg 2 times a day should do the trick..It does not effect the kidneys and has no side effects..Ginger is best for sore muscles and the enzyme in ginger called zingibain helps break down excess fibrinogen (a by-product of muscle metabolism that contributes to soreness)
All of us have joint pain from time to time and more so if one has rheumatoid arthritis..Anti- inflammatory drugs were used such as Cox-2 inhibitors. Sold under such brand names as, Vioxx and Bextra one has to recite history to know that these were pulled of the shelves in 2004 for causing many premature deaths due to heart attacks ,strokes , skin reactions etc..Yea Mr. Big Pharma is at it again making you and me their own special little guinea pig..The only Cox-2 remaining is Celebrex and time will tell if that too will cause maladies too terrifying to mention...What bothers me is that these drugs are and were ridiculously expensive because of their registered patent.. but the cost to our health system is beyond comprehension!...The alternative? Well...let us be our own experiment and use something that is natural, has little or no side effects and will never tax our health care system to the max!..This one alternative for joint pain could be in Grandma's medicine cabinet..Tumeric powder is a great natural alternative to prescription medications..One teaspoon a day added to stir fries, or soups can counteract the pain from achy joints..This natural herb inhibits the inflammatory chemical prostaglandin E2 from causing joint pain stiffness and pain..Yes my dear people...I do use Tumeric a lot and most times feel rejuvenated from being a tired old man to this bubbling dancing old fool as I listen to my favorite rock songs!
Yes my dear people there is always another road to follow that is the right road and to put your total trust on others without doing your own research is really asking for trouble..
Another big time complaint among North Americans is the all too common complaint from the Mrs. at bedtime...She says: "Not now darling I have this terrible headache.. I need to sleep it off"! Well that comment is very well known among men and some firmly believe it is an excuse to avoid the call of duty... yes some women think it is a duty to do that sort of thing...but before we bash the keeper of all life let us realize that maybe she really did have that terrible headache...and was tired of taking aspirins for fear of stomach problems, or liver problems...Enter, the natural alternative white willow bark:..The salicin in the bark is actually used to make aspirin but the aspirin lacks the natural anti-inflammatory poly-phenols of white willow bark..This natural alternative works at 1/15 the dosage of regular aspirin and has virtually no side effects..and because of its natural state it is very safe for the stomach liver and kidneys.. When buying white willow extract make sure it's 15% salicin...They come in mg containers so ask your natural care provider or pharmacist what amount you should have..
Then we have vitamin D the most talked about vitamin in today's health care industry..Little do people know most North Americans are deficient in the hydroxy 25 supply of stored vitamin D in the fat cells..What most people don't understand is that vitamin D is a necessary vitamin that acts like a hormone and actually influences about 1500 genes in the body..there are actually vitamin D receptors in each cell that use vitamin D to perform many functions...if there is not enough D stored the immune system is compromised and may be subject to attack from many microbial invaders, diseases, and a whole list of auto-immune disorders...Scary huh? But believe-able? Well the vitamin D research council of North America thinks so!..Health Canada says we must have at least 400 IU of vitamin D per day to sustain ourselves during the year...but the council thinks this is drastically inefficient considering how many are actually deficient in North America...since it's called the sun shine vitamin the UV light of the suns rays actually assist the body in absorbing D through the process of cholesterol skin synthesis..sun screen applied prior to being in the sun will block about 90 percent of this synthesis from happening..so don't put on that sun screen until you had a nice little 20 min dose of the sunshine vitamin..usually when the sun is not that intense..Here's the deal..or should I say the experiment? Before we can act as our own little experiment one needs to ask the right questions..Such as: Why do most diseases such as breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson disease, arthritis, all types and strains of the flu happen in places like the Northern latitudes such USA and Canada where the sun seems to hide most days?..Well...some say it's because of our sedentary lifestyle of staying indoors in offices watching TV in the middle of the day and being obsessed with communication via computers rather then going out on sunny picnics like people used to do...Well, if plants cannot survive without sunshine, water, and nutrients from the soil, I don't think mankind should be any different considering that we have similar strains of DNA structure to plants and even fungus like mushrooms..The vitamin D council of North America believes that sunshine has a cataclysmic effect on all bodily processes and without it we could be in danger of being afflicted with many diseases prematurely...So what does that have to do with being your own experiment? Well..what if one decided to actually take the initiative to ask their family Dr. to get their vitamin D blood level checked? What Doctors usually do is practice damage control not prevention..Why? Well..The first thing a Doctor says when you come into his office is 'what can I do for you'? Rather then check your files and previous blood reports and discusses what he thinks needs improvements or what he feels you should have checked... he waits until something goes wrong before he actually decides to give any advice...The quick fix is usually some drug which probably didn't pass through phase 4 of the drug study trials... drugs being fast tracked by Health Canada is a common thing nowadays..and one must be very cautious and the only logical alternative is to be your own experiment rather then Big Pharma's...How? Well...without side effects that's how! Drug companies do not like natural supplements or natural cures because they cannot be patented and therefore cannot be extremely profitable for them..In discussing vitamin D one classic example is the synthetic Vitamin D2 prescribed by doctors which is very inferior to the natural D3 type which the body can utilize more efficiently..So why do doctors prescribe an inferior product? Well part of the reason is because of their lack of knowledge..Prescription vitamin D2 has a very short lifespan in the body and a higher turnover rate ...so in actuality 50000IU of prescription Vitamin D2 is actually equivalent to 15000 IU of V3..in a sustained period of time..making the supplement D3 you get at Walmart a more viable option..I presently take 3000 IU of D3 daily which is around 21,000 IU per week and the body is readily able to store it in these daily dosages better then one pill a week of inferior quality prescription D2 which is routinely prescribed by ignorant doctors..Germany in the late 50 s knew about this and discovered this discrepancy and now make D3 more readily available in their prescriptions..North America, as usual is behind the times when it come's to thinking independently from the pressures of Big Pharma..Pity isn't it?That's why you need to be your own experiment and challenge your doctor as to the validity of his advice or prescriptions...What I did was get my vitamin D tested...found out I was deficient and took 3000IU of D3 daily and had my blood tested again in 4 months...It is now in the normal range and getting better as the summer sunshine continues to be appreciated..
Yes..these suggestions are minor and some are even major and some could have a very profound effect on your health..
There were many evil races or cultures or famous people who experimented with drugs as Timothy Leary did in the 60's..A well known doctor, writer and visionary who actually changed the face of North America with his experiments with LSD...He used the catch phrase: Turn on, Tune in, and drop out and was made an icon by the youth drug culture of the 60 s and even the 70's...He led the way to exploring the self by using drugs such as LSD...He chronicled the research results and thus paved the way to a damning drug culture that even today is terribly out of control..Being your own experiment should not involve any self induced drug to enter your body..but today there are millions of drug users that still experiment with crack cocaine, heroine, marijuana, and even our nasty Tylenol, and other pain killers...So for every positive aspect of being your own experiment there is always a dark cloud or flip side which is really a one way trip to hell! Want an express ticket? I'm not sure if Greyhound goes there (he he)..
My advice in this entry is stay away from chemical drugs of any kind and replace it with natural alternatives and learn to meditate..modern day Indian yogi's can actually slow their heart beat at will when in deep yogi meditative states.This to me is total bliss and serenity and major insights can be found which is naturally induced as opposed to artificially induced..To explore one's soul as a separate entity is the ultimate experiment one can choose..Be your experiment folks but remember that we all are of the same cosmic egg while still remembering that we have a mission statement to implement..
